5 ways to Improve your CTR in Adwords

Improving your AdWords campaigns their are a lot a ways to improve your click through rate and impressions on AdWords. I've compressed a list of 5 easy ways you can improve your CTR instantly.

1. Simplicity is key: Make sure your ad group structure is well organized and follows a common theme. Ad groups should follow one common theme and not try to tackle more than one topic.

2. Specificity: the more specific you can be on a topic the more likely your going to reach the personas your targeting. The problem with broad match is that Google will show your ad to searches related to your keywords, and what Google considers related might vary. make sure to take a look at your search terms that have good key performance indicators, and add them as keywords in more restrictive match types such as phrase, exact, or even broad match modifier.

3. Use Negative keywords: Using negative keywords will not only improve you CTR but it will also save you important advertising dollars. The advantages of using AdWords is that your able to target people who are looking for you and you're doing yourself a disservice by not using negative keywords.

4. Using Ad extensions: There are many types of ad extensions that can make your advert stand out from the crowd. Using the full range of extensions increases the size of your ads and makes them appear more relevant, which you’ve guessed it, improves the click through rate.

5. Include Your Target Keywords in Your Advertisements: It sounds obvious, but if your adverts don’t include the keywords you are bidding on within your advert copy then your CTRs will be poor and you will potentially pay more than you need to.
Include your target keyword in the headline and again within the ad copy and again in the display URL.
